Go, Upwards, Go!

Hannah decided that she wanted to do cheerleading, so instead of enrolling her at a cheer academy, I decided to let her join the Upward cheerleading team with First Baptist in Clinton. I liked the fact that it was with a church and that they had a devotion every time they practiced.
Practice was every Thursday evening and games were Saturday afternoons.
The boys did flag football, and the girls were the cheerleaders. The cheerleaders cheered for all the teams, not just one. Hannah enjoyed it over all, although there were those times she didn't want to go because it was too hot!! I definitely saw improvement throughout the weeks, and at the end they had a closing ceremony at the church. The boys got footballs and the girls got a frame with Upward Cheerleader on it. I'm attaching some pictures and a video.

Goodbye to Oliver & Jewel

The hardest decision I've had to make came a few months ago...the decision to get rid of two of the cats. It's hard because they are like family, but I couldn't afford to take care of them any longer and Jewel had just had kittens!! On June 29, 2008, Jewel had 5 kittens. Three black ones and two that were gray with black stripes like Oliver. One of the striped ones died a couple of days later and the other one died a few weeks later.
I just couldn't afford to get them fixed, even with a voucher, and now with kittens...so I made the hardest decision ever. I had to take them to the Animal Rescue League. Mom and dad took them for me. It was hard on me, but it was also hard on Madison & Hannah. They were so mad at me for the longest time. I just had to keep telling myself that it was the right thing to do, no matter how painful it was to have them taken away.
