Princess Ball

The first Friday in May, the Clinton High School puts on a princess ball for all girls who attend Clinton Park Elementary and Northside Elementary (K-3rd Grade). This year was the 3rd Annual Princess Ball. The high school cafeteria is transformed into a castle. The doors going into the cafeteria are made to look like a drawbridge. The high school band plays music and there is a line for snacks and punch. It's really fun for the girls. When they first get there, they get to pick out a crown to wear, if they want, then a line is formed and each girl is announced at the door with her escort. For example, I took Hannah this year and Justin took Madison, so when they announced Hannah and I they said: Announcing Princess Hannah Sickles and her Fairy Godmother, Amy Sickles. When the announced Justin and Madison they said: Announcing Princess Madison Sickles and her Prince Charming Justin Sickles. As we walk down the aisle, there are people on each side bowing, twirling ribbons and handing out wands and a rose. This year was a little different, in that they had games to play like spinning tops, tossing frisbees, and even HOMEWORK stations! That was Hannah's favorite part! The girls looked like beautiful princesses and had a great time!
